Consti-Slim Review

Consti-Slim is a dietary supplement designed to improve bowel health, purge toxins from the body, support digestion, and help people using it to maintain a healthy weight.

The supplement is produced in capsule format and you need to take it twice per day. Each capsule provides 12 active ingredients, 11 of which are in a proprietary blend.

Consti-Slim is distributed under the Simple Promise brand name. Although the company website provides a US street address in the state of Washington, the company is actually incorporated in Singapore. It has been trading since 2018.

According to the company information page on the Simple Promise website, all its supplements only provide proven ingredients that have been tested on humans, not animals.

The page also states Simple Promise provides the ingredients in the same amounts that have been proven effective in clinical trials.

All this sounds great in theory but customers have to take the company’s word for all these things. As with so many other supplement companies, Simple Promise uses proprietary blends. So, although we can see what the ingredients are, there is no way to discover the amounts.

The other interesting thing is, the company seldom provides any links to studies that support the value of any of the ingredients it uses.

This review will answer some of the questions you have about Consti-Slim. It also provides useful information to help you decide if Consti-Slim is a good match for your needs.

What Is Consti-Slim and How Does It Work?

Consti-Slim is a daily food supplement that’s designed to ease constipation, bloating, and gas, while also supporting healthy weight management.

Unfortunately, the Consti-Slim sales page doesn’t provide much useful information about the product at all.

However, there are 12 ingredients in the proprietary blend, Simple Promise says the most important one is a specific type of clay. The clay allegedly binds to toxins that are stuck to the intestinal walls and then eliminates them from the body.

Several of the ingredients are laxatives so, presuming suitable amounts are provided, they should further support the detoxification process.

First and foremost, Consti-Slim appears to be nothing more than a glorified laxative that also provides an unspecified amount of clay.

The formulation also provides a single strain of probiotic bacteria but Consti-Slim is not specifically a probiotic product.

By providing a detox, Consti-Slim may improve gut health. If it can do this, it could provide additional health benefits as well. Poor gut health can undermine good health in a variety of ways.

One of the things it can do is slow metabolism. This can make it easier to gain weight and harder to lose it. So, Consti-Slim has theoretical value as a weight loss aid.

However, the weight loss abilities of a product like this will be minimal. Supplements that are specifically for weight loss will offer a far greater level of support.

How Do You Use Consti-Slim?

The dose is two capsules, one to two times per day, taken with food. Simple Promise advises all new users to seek expert medical advice before commencing supplementation.

Ingredient Profile

Two capsules provide:

  • Calcium Carbonate (200 mg)
  • Proprietary Blend (500 mg)

The proprietary blend consists of unknown quantities of the following 11 ingredients:

  • Bentonite
  • Oat Straw
  • Alfalfa
  • Psyllium Husk
  • Rhubarb
  • Gentian
  • Aloe Vera
  • Cascara Sagrada
  • Goldenseal Root Extract
  • Buckthorn
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus

Calcium Carbonate

Simple promise does not explain the role calcium carbonate plays in the formulation.

However, it functions well  as an antacid and, by providing extra calcium, it may benefit your bones and teeth.

This a clay. People have been using it medicinally for thousands of years. When applied topically, bentonite clay can be very good for cleaning and protecting the skin. This is due to its ability to attract dirt and similar particles and then absorb them.

According to a trusted source (WebMD), Bentonite clay’s value as digestive aid requires further study.

Surprisingly, given the claims Simple Promise makes for its products, all the studies to date appear to be animal-based.

WebMD also points out doctors advise against eating clay as it may cause blockages in the intestines. (

Oat Straw

Oat straw is high in several minerals including iron and zinc. It’s associated with several health benefits including better memory and improvements in mood.

Research suggests good results require a dose of 800-1,600 mg per day. The Consti-Slim proprietary blend is only 500mg (per 2 capsules). Unless the blend is mostly oat straw even four capsules per day won’t provide enough.

Alfalfa is a nutritious, high-fiber food. It’s also a popular supplement ingredient.

However, although eating regular portions of alfalfa may improve blood clotting, lower cholesterol, and provide other desirable benefits, the average supplement won’t provide enough.

Psyllium Husk

A high-fiber ingredient that’s good for bulking the stool and making it softer. It’s a popular natural treatment for constipation.

Rhubarb is rich in antioxidants that reduce inflammation. It’s antibacterial as well. With that in mind, it’s probably not a good choice for a product that contains probiotic bacteria. Rhubarb is also a laxative.

A medicinal herb that increases appetite and is also a herbal treatment for bloating and diarrhea.

Aloe Vera

Although it has several other uses, Aloe vera is a popular laxative that’s present in many constipation remedies available to buy over-the-counter.

Cascara Sagrada

Another herbal laxative.

Goldenseal Root Extract

Goldenseal is a popular medicinal herb. People use it as a treatment for many conditions including digestive disorders and respiratory infections. Unfortunately, there is a lack of evidence to support its value in any area.

Buckthorn bark is a popular herbal laxative.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus

A probiotic bacteria strain that lives in the mouth, intestines, and vagina. It’s a common addition to probiotic supplements and is also present in many dairy products.

Lactobacillus acidophilus in oral supplements may aid digestive disorders. This strain can apparently survive without the need for refrigeration.

Does Consti-Slim Have Good Customer Reviews?

We were unable to find any customer reviews. Several online publications have “Consti-Slim reviews” that are obviously the work of people trying to earn affiliate commissions.

Most of them claim the product has plenty of customer feedback but it’s not the case. They also claim the product has a 365-day money-back guarantee even though it has no guarantee at all.

So, although it would be informative to read about some genuine Consti-Slim experiences, at the time of this review (August 2021), it was not possible to do so.

Does Consti-Slim Have Any Side Effects?

All of the ingredients have the potential to cause some people to experience side effects and the lack of inclusion rates makes it impossible to judge if they are present in acceptable amounts.

Although bentonite clay is generally considered safe, it comes from the ground, where it may collect pesticides, heavy metals, and/or other contaminants.

In 2016, the FDA issued a warning about one specific bentonite clay product when it was discovered to contain overly high levels of lead. (

Buckthorn bark can cause potassium deficiency and muscle cramps. Cascara sagrada can cause cramps too, along with stomach discomfort and/or several other side effects.

Looking at the formulation as a whole, stomach discomfort and diarrhea are probably the most likely side effects.

Consti-Slim Buying Options and Considerations

Consti-Slim is exclusive to the Simple Promise website and, at the time of this review, the price was $49 per bottle, with additional charges for shipping and taxes on top.

That’s pretty expensive. Most of the top diet pills and digestive supplements cost less.

There are only 60 capsules per bottle. That means, if you are taking four capsules per day, you will need to buy two bottles of Consti-Slim per month. Again this does not compare well to some of the alternatives and Consti-Slim doesn’t even have a money-back guarantee.

Consti-Slim Review Conclusion

As I conclude this review, I realize the name Consti-Slim suggests a product that tackles constipation and helps get you slim. Sadly, this product is likely to offer more value in one regard than the other ‒ that’s presuming it offers any value at all.

Several of the ingredients are laxatives. If they are provided in respectable doses, Consti-Slim should help keep people regular. If you poop more than normal, you will have less poop sitting in your guts. This will make your weight less and it would be easy to mistake any weight lost in this way as fat loss when it is not.

As a detox supplement, Consti-Slim has theoretical value but you don’t want to be using a product like this over long periods of time. Most detox programs only last for a few days to a week.

As a diet pill, Consti-Slim has a lesser value. It may positively influence metabolism but will not offer the same level of hunger support as a good diet pill does or match its ability to enhance fat burning.

There are no customer reviews to suggest Consti-Slim has value in any area at all but it may work best as a short-term treatment for constipation, used as and when required.
