XLS Medical Max Strength Review
InQpharm’s XLS Medical Max Strength is a weight management product that is arguably it’s current best seller.
The company also produces several other supplements intended to help people in their quest for weight loss. However, the XLS Medical brand is best known for its original fat binding product.
Although the original XLS Medical Fat Binder is still available to buy, InQpharm claims XLS Medical Max Strength is a superior version.
The original product is sold with the promise that it will help you to lose up to three times more weight than with dieting alone.
According to InQpharm, the Max Strength version is 33 percent more effective. However, it differs somewhat from its predecessor.
The original product is only a fat binder. XLS Medical Max Strength is designed to bind dietary fat and block carbohydrate absorption as well.
InQpharm also makes a big fuss about the product’s ability to block sugar absorption. This is somewhat of a misleading claim though. Sugar is carbohydrate. More specifically, it’s a simple carb. [SOURCE]
The only difference between simple carbs like sugar and fructose is they are absorbed quickly. It takes the body longer to process complex carbs like oatmeal and brown rice.

What Is XLS Medical Max Strength and How Does It Work?
If you’ve gained weight, the fact that this has happened shows you have regularly consumed more calories than your body could burn for energy. It had more than it needed, so it stored the rest as fat.
There’s only one way to reverse the process. You will need to regularly eat less calories than your body needs to fulfill its energy requirements. This will force your body to begin breaking down its stores of fat and using the released calories for energy.
Blocker-type supplements are designed to reduce calorie intake by preventing normal nutrient absorption. So, in theory, you could eat the same amount of food, but get less calories because a percentage of them are blocked.
Each gram of fat consumed provides nine calories. A gram of protein provides four so blocking the absorption of these two nutrients offers obvious benefits.
Like any other form of weight management aid, though, good results will still require a sensible, calorie-controlled diet. There are no magic pills.
The Blocking Action: How It’s Achieved and Where the Calories Go
The word “blocker” is self-explanatory. Supplements that block fat and carbohydrate prevent a percentage of it from being digested. So, where does all this undigested food go? You poop it away.
There may be no magic pills, but the idea of pooping calories away still seems kinda magical.
All carb blockers share the same modus operandi. They contain ingredients that render the digestive enzyme that processes carbohydrate less effective. You could say, they force it to do a shoddy job.
Fat blockers come in two forms. The first form works in a similar way to carb blockers because it suppresses the activity of the enzyme that digests fat.
The second form of fat blocker works differently. It binds with fat in the stomach and forms an indigestible compound. The fat digesting enzyme remains fully-functional and ready to go. It just can’t get at the fat to do its job.
XLS Medical Fat Binder works in this way, but XLS Medical Max Strength does not. It targets the digestive enzyme instead.
The formulation does not affect protein digestion because it’s achieved by different enzymes. [SOURCE]

XLS Medical Max Strength Ingredients
XLS Medical Max Strength has just one active ingredient and it’s a proprietary blend. It’s called Clavitanol.
The problem with proprietary blends is the ingredients that make up the blend are generally there in unspecified amounts. The ratios and measures involved are a secret. That makes it very hard to evaluate the blend potential.
In this case, everything is extra hush because InQpharm doesn’t even reveal what ingredients are involved. Apparently, it’s a plant-based polyphenol. That could be just about anything.
XLS Medical Max Strength Formula
Without any knowledge of the plant or plants involved, it’s not possible to look into the abilities the extract(s) are likely to possess. Nor is it possible to find or reference any studies that indicate their value.
However, the abilities of the Clavitanol proprietary blend have been evaluated in one study. It was conducted over a 12-week period and 108 overweight/obese volunteers were involved.
At the end of the study, the placebo group had lost 0.83 kg, but the Clavitanol group did better. The average weight loss was 3.29 kg
InQpharm bases its claim that XLS Medical Max Strength can help you to lose four times as much weight on the aforementioned figures.
Despite the fact that the claim seems valid, the results of a single study cannot be seen as definitive proof that Clavitanol works.
There are also a few other problems with this study. For one thing, the people who took part were not closely monitored. Far from it. They completed the study at home.
Then there’s the sponsoring issue. The study was funded by InQpharm so it cannot be seen as unbiased.
Finally, there’s one last problem. When the study was published in the journal Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, it contained errors about measurements.
The authors also claimed there was no conflict of interests. This is not the case because the authors were in receipt of funding from the manufacturer of the product they were evaluating.
A correction was published later, but it was a long time coming. The study was published in May 2015. The correction was published in December 2016. [SOURCE 1, SOURCE 2]
How to Use XLS Medical Max Strength
XLS Medical Max Strength comes in two versions. The first is a tablet, the second one is an edible powder packed in individual one-dose sachets.
Depending on which option is chosen, the dose is two tablets or one sachet 30 minutes before the 2 largest meals of the day.
The tablets have to be taken with water, the powder does not. It has a fruity flavour and has to be poured onto the tongue and then swallowed after it dissolves in the mouth.
XLS Medical Max Strength Customer Feedback
Customer reviews suggest XLS Medical Max Strength is, at best, a hit-or-miss product that may work for some people, but not for others.
A few average customer comments read:
“I can confirm XLS Medical Max Strength works well with diet and exercise. I’ve seen some very good improvements in the amount of weight I’m losing.”
“I used the sachets. The taste isn’t bad and it’s better than swallowing pills, but they don’t work. All they did was give me gas.”
“Seem to do the job, but it’s slow work. I was hoping for something with a bit more power.”
“Doesn’t do a thing. Avoid the disappointment and save your money to put towards weight reducing surgery. “
Side Effects and Health Issues
InQpharm says new users may have a problem with intestinal gas during the first few days of use. No other side effects are mentioned.
However, blocker-type supplements can cause some people to experience stomach discomfort. This is generally more due to the way the supplements work rather than the effects of the ingredients.
Using fat blockers alongside a diet that is high in fat may also result in explosive diarrhea. Providing the fat blockers with more fat to block will only cause a greater excess of undigested fat to be present in the intestines.
Fat’s slippery stuff so it’s not surprising this kind of reaction can be an issue.
The aforementioned problems occur due to the blocking action. There is no way to know what negative issues Clavitanol may present because InQpharm doesn’t reveal what it is.
With this in mind, we suggest not using this product without first discussing the possible implications with a doctor.
Where to Buy XLS Medical Max Strength
XLS Medical Max Strength is available from many stores and pharmacies. It’s also distributed by any number of online stores, so it’s not normally a hard product to get hold of. You can even buy it on Amazon.
Guarantee
XLS Medical Max Strength does not have a money back guarantee.
The Bottom Line
Customer reviews suggest XLS Medical Max Strength may work for some people and there are no reports of serious side effects. It’s still very much a mystery product though.
Nobody should consider consuming any form of dietary supplement without knowing precisely what it contains. Nor should anyone expect them to.
The active ingredient also requires further research. One study, funded by the company that makes it, is not enough. Furthermore, when a study is funded by the company that is most likely to benefit from a good result it lacks credibility.
We are not going to say this product won’t work. What we will say is it would be good to see more study results, attained from unbiased sources. It would also be good to see a money back guarantee.
As it stands, we are looking at a product that may or may not work. The only sure thing is if you buy XLS Medical Max Strength and it doesn’t work your money is gone. All the top weight loss products do have a money back guarantee, so this sounds like a pretty poor deal all around.
